Lots of people watching, good food, and walking

Yesterday I strapped on my walking shoes and ventured out into the city. Tons of busy working people along with beautiful women and wonderful food. Although this place is unlike the tourist destinations of Mexico, I still feel as if I am in a paradise. After an early breakfast of Juevos rancheros and jugo de naranjada I found myself romping around looking for photo opportunities. I have probably walked 20 miles already since I have been here. You can tell the locals walk a ton too because I don't think I have seen one overweight person since I arrived. There is also a unique blend of Purepechan art and Spanish colonial styles. Everything from the architecture to the crafts that are sold at the mercado reflect these two influences. Today Dan, Becky, myself, and some of their Gringo and Mexican friends are going to a town outside of Patzcuaro for the celebration of Corpus Christi. I saw roughly 20 tour buses show up last night that were travelers here to see the celebration. Most of the tourists here are Mexican. I have been shooting 120 film the whole time (medium format) so I don't have as many pics to post as of yet, but I will be shooting some today. My tummy is holding up well, other than the ATM machine eating my debit card, all things point to a relaxing but productive trip! Attached is a photo of the view from casa Brawner.
